Postby momitty » Mon Jan 05, 2004 3:52 pm

All the card art directories just tell me to put my card art in there. Where do I get the art?

I will write a simple utility for downloading Card Art images automatically.
:)

Please wait for day or two. Check the forum again in few days for

"Card Art Assistant". When I am ready there will be a download link on in the download section.

Okay...got the art, but it doesn't show up

Postby momitty » Tue Jan 06, 2004 8:07 pm

I used the alpha cardarter program. It downloaded ZIP files full of jpegs. I unzipped them and put the jpegs in the appropriate folder. For example, the 8th ed ones in the 8th Edition folder. But now they still don't show up. I've tried sticking them in variations of the folder like naming it 8E and still doesn't work.

Any ideas?

How to use downloaded images

Postby gaddlord » Wed Jan 07, 2004 7:30 am

Download "Full" images. MTG Studio is currently not working with cropped images.

Lets say we want the cards from 8th Edition

1) Select as a source "Magic Suitcase" from the combobox
2) Check "Eight Edition Artifacts" for example from the checklistbox
3) Check "Full" from Picture Type group box
4) Click on Start button
5) downloading was started
...
6) after the zip file with images was downloaded, exract the images and move them in the appropriate edition directory in Card Art.
(Ex. c:\program files\palmroot\mtg studio 0.5\card art\8th edition)
7) start MTG Studio

I hope it helps

Where's the card art??

Postby Cecil » Wed Jan 07, 2004 2:26 pm

But MWS Data only has the cropped versions. What about the full versions? Magic suitcase has full versions of 8th edition and mirrodin cards only. What about the rest of the editions?

Yes, Magic Suitcase is incomplete.

Where is the rest of the art?

Also, isn't this artwork copyrighted by Wizards? Did you have to clear it with them? Could I get in trouble having this art on my computer?

Card Art images

Hi, folks

1. Yes, the card art copyrights are owned by the respective artists
2. Yes, you are not allowed to download and use this iamges (though everybody uses them). It is a tricky thing. Nobody admits that he has the images but everybody uses them.
3. The PalmROOT Team is not responsible for any problem you may have after downloading the Card Art images. Card Arter is just a program which will aid you to download this images. PalmROOT, Inc. does not has Card Art images. All the zip files are downloaded from third party servers.
4. We are about to make a complete list of Internet sources where you can find Card Art images and append them to the already existing ones (MWS Data and Suitcase) in Card Arter. If you know such a link please send it to us (support@palmroot.com)

One of the best way is for people who're lucky enought to have a "magic the gathering interactive encyclopedia" there is all the card in high rez Jpeg untill 2001 extensions (not the recent, support is over unfortunately)

To build olds decks or Type 1 decks it's great.

Maybe you can find some copy on ebay or sites like this.

MTG Interactive Encyclopaedia

Postby gaddlord » Mon Feb 02, 2004 7:17 am

Please send us as much information as possible about how the Card Art is organized in MTG Interactive Encyclopaedia (MTGIE). We wish MTG Studio to support MTGIE card art but we do not have it. :(

Please, tell us

In what format the card art is stored
How directories are organized
How the directories are named
How the card art image files are named

Send this information directly to the forum or at support@palmroot.com

Thank You.

Language support

Postby [Unreal] » Wed Feb 25, 2004 12:25 pm

In the features page, it's said:

"MTG Studio 0.5.9 Features:
...
Localization for German, Russian, Bulgarian, Spanish, Italian speakers.
..."

I downloaded the software and installed it, but I cannot find the Spanish localization anywhere... Should I download something else? From where?

Link to Download Card Art

Postby bwalsh » Wed May 19, 2004 9:04 am

I would like to see a link for people to be able to download the card art, even though it is large. I have been using this program for a while now and I think it is a wonderful piece of software.

If we had access to a link to download all the card art from your site, it would make it complete for me. :D

Thanks for all you've done with this program.

While MTGIE is dead, there is a freeware prog that started out as a MTGIE clone, but has since blossomed into an even better program. Checkout MTGplay. It can use the old MTGIE images, and it is being continually updated with new images for the new sets. If MTG studio can be made to use or import the images from MTGplay, it'd solve all the image problems.
