Version 3.41 doesn't fix it either. Clean install of 3.40 OR 3.41 produces the same crash condition. Still back-rev to 3.28 works fine, no issues. Please fix.

3.41 doesn't fix the crashing problem for me either unfortunately.

I'm in "collection from pool" mode and using the search box to search for various cards, then add them to my collection. After some arbitrary period of time doing this it crashes to desktop with no error message.

The most heavy (and complex) pieces of code happen while card art is downloaded, prices updated, reviews downloaded, etc.

Can someone try to use if without Internet enabled?

Please report back if this workarounds the issue. This way we can start drilling down into the issue.

I believe I have found it! :wall:

Some of the price vendors misbehave (return unexpected results).

Until a permanent fix is found I plan implementing a new feature in forthcoming MTG Studio 3.42 to allow switching off of price vendors.

Refer to http://www.mtgstudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4361.

The issue was first present on 09.05.2016 and since then caused 898 crashes.

In order to find all similar situations I plan extending the Crash Dump with information about the last card selected before the crash. This way troubleshooting will be easier.

Code: Select all
Last Card Id: 32478
date/time: 2016-02-20, 14:44:03, 968ms
operating system: Windows Vista Service Pack 2 build 6002
system language: English
system up time: 2 years 1 day 17 hours
program up time: 48 minutes 14 seconds
processor: AMD Athlon(tm) Processor 2650e
physical memory: 626/1790 MB (free/total)
free disk space: (C:) 4.42 GB
display mode: 1600x900, 32 bit
process id: $1c8c
allocated memory: 173.55 MB
executable: mtgstudio.exe
exec. date/time: 2015-10-23 22:23
version: 3.42.0.3700
exception class: EAccessViolation
exception message : Access violation at address 01998FEF in module 'mtgstudio.exe'. Read of address 000001E4.

I will also have to recode completely the price provider parsers in order to be bullet proof to the bad output some price providers give from time to time.

Until then please upgrade to the forthcoming MTG Studio 3.42 and switch on only the price providers which do not create headaches to you.

I've disabled all pricing, and have had no crashes since the recent update. I've tried a couple price sources with no crashes, but also woefully inaccurate pricing, so I just figure leave it off. I've never seen the pricing to be accurate anyway, so I'm happy to disable the feature if it means no more crashes.

Well, looks like the "select no price sources" fix seemed to work. I deselected all price sources and the program seems to be stable now. Thanks for that. Will be good to have pricing (that functions for all - even most - cards) but this is definitely an improvement.

In version 3.34 the price provider for Find Magic Cards store was rewritten. I hope this resolves the issue.
