I was unable to start 1.6.3 due to one of the two application error messages mentioned in other places on the forum (failed to initiate properly, program damaged). Upon installing 1.6.4 and attempting to start it up, Vista announces that MTG Studio stopped working before I ever get to the splash screen. I have tried reinstalling, running as an admnistrator, and running in compatibility mode. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you a registered user. If so please send me your MTG Studio registration username on email to test with.
It is not relevant if registered or not. I just wish to reproduce the problem.

Which Vista version you are running?

Does it give any exception dialogs, warnings or simple does not start without saying anything?

I have just sent you the requested email. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate.

When I start MTG Studio, a message box pops up that says 'MTG Studio has stopped working" and under it "Windows is checking for a solution to your problem. . ."

After a short time it says "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." The only option I have at that point is to click "Close program"

The problem has been resolved, perhaps by itself, perhaps by my bumbling. I uninstalled and then changed the DEP settings and reinstalled. The program now works as it should.

Note for anyone else experiencing the same problem: For the changes of DEP to take effect, you must restart your computer.

Thanks Gad, the 1.6.4 works fine on Windows Vista

I still miss the FNM Card of 'Desert' in the MTG Studio.

Apart from this particular one I have another another 6'971 cards to add :)
Soon (I hope for 1.6.5) I expect we will have a Salvat set added some Japanse Arenas and the latest FNM, MPR, etc. promo updates.

Thanks so much for your time and effort with this new release. I really look forward to using it, as soon as this (major) problem gets resolved...

So, I followed the posted directions, making a copy of the 1.6.2 mtgstudio.collection to my desktop before uninstalling. I installed 1.6.4 and did File|Import... but the collection appears empty.

I spent the better part of 3 days putting all of that in. Please tell me there is hope somewhere, somehow!

Also, I was under the impression that we would be able to restrict visibility of available cards to 'My Collection' with this release. Yet, that doesn't seem to be included in the options. Has that been pushed to a later release?

Follow the instruction
1. Download the http://www.mtgstudio.com/download/beta/ ... ickfix.zip
2. Stop MTG Studio
3. Unzip and copy the mtgstudio.exe file attached in your MTG Studio 1.6.4 installation folder
4. Start MTG Studio.
