By brick and mortar do you mean local or do you also mean like troll and toad. People use the term differently. It used to mean literally local stores of which I have one comic book store in a 20 mile radius and it doesnt even do tcgs. So i have no brick and mortar. Troll and toad seems the best with its 99cent shipping but I dont know if its prices are more or same or less then tcgplayer considering shipping as well as peace of mind.

For me brick and mortar is one of the local game stores. I'd still buy boardgames and figs there to keep them running, but I can't afford to waste my money on cards I can get for 75% off.

Cutting the long story short. Since version 2.2 MTG Studio uses extensively TCG Player integration for its prices. The full integration is still not over but at the end we will have also such Buy buttons directly in MTG Studio:

Heh. Guess there's not pleasing me lol. I'll go with the flow and just hope it works out in the end. Just never understood why there was such a wide variance of prices on tcgplayer but not on the other stores. Something always seemed 'fishy' but maybe I am too in-experienced to really understand it.

Still glad for the integration moving along.

Gaddlord, does this means that MTG Studio will have the 3 price range for all the cards just like Tcgplayer.com?
I think this will be a great improvement.

Right now, unfortunately, Abu Games and Magic traders gives me really wrong prices, like I posted in this topic http://www.mtgstudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6126#6126
I imagine I'm not alone.

Thank you for the effort! :P

Ah, and I want to thank Azul for the details about his experience buying cards on TCGplayer.com and other places. :P

Go to Bye At Column, press the ... button, from the opened Pick Price window you will be able to see all store prices TCGPlayer has. No need to show High, Mid, Low if you can see them all.

Gaddlord, I have 2 different ideas / suggestions and I think I’m having difficulty explaining them, sorry. I’ll try to separate them and explain the reason for 3 price range. Please, bear with me :-)

1) A column in the collection and deck mode, with the price evaluated from a bunch of different stores, like TCGplayer.com

2) The same as the first, but instead of just 1 column, 3 columns with 3 price ranges (High, Mid, Low).

EXPLANATION:
_______________________ _______________________________________________
1) Right now MTG Studio only searches Abu games and Magic traders, and both give wrong prices in the “market value” column, as I tried to show in my other posts. More stores is better, we all agree. So the information that shows up in the “market value” column should be an average from a bunch of different stores not just those two.

This information can only be accessed thru the ellipsis (...) clicking “one card at a time”. This, unfortunately, isn’t really useful for evaluating the price of an entire collection or a set, or a group of cards. I can already search the price, one card at a time, going to TCGplayer.com. What I can’t do, and would really be useful, is to use the information from TCGplayer.com, “hundreds of cards at a time”.

That’s what I believe MTG Studio can do, just changing the source of the information in “market value” column and putting the information from TCGplayer.com. It would give everyone the ability to see the price of its collection a lot more accurately than just from Abu games or Magic traders.

_____________________________________________________________________
2) The reason for 3 price range instead of just one is that when evaluating the price of an entire collection or a set, I could just pick the average price.

But it would be a lot more useful if I picked 3 price ranges (High, Mid, Low) and calculated 3 collection prices. That way I know that if my cards are “nearmint” I can push for the High price. It gives me, the seller, an idea of how much I can ask for my cards (High), how much I’ll probably get (Mid) and how much I would get if all my cards were “used as hell”.

It gives the price range, not just the average. Average can be misleading.

So, as you can see, the fact that all the prices are available in the ellipsis (...) pop-up window, doesn’t help. The prices should be in 3 columns in the collection mode so we can evaluate the price range, not just the average, for the whole collection, a group or a set of cards.
_______________________ _______________________________________________

Thank you very much for reading this until the end. It took me 1h30 to write it. I really believe MTG Studio is a great software, and I believe those changes would really make it better, not just for me, but for everybody.

Very cool.

I agree.

Just include all the stores including the two we already have and any others we can get later. (Cant tell if that was implied or not)
