[MtG Beta 7] Opening Collection Bug

Postby Ouronos » Sun Mar 06, 2011 1:41 pm

Greetings...

I noticed that this occurred with me in Beta 6, but thought that I would wait to see if anyone else had this issue.

When opening a previously created deck, the deck shows as proper. However, hitting F7 for deck properties reveals that Statistics thinks that the deck is empty.

Also, if a previously created deck is open, and new deck is created, the Quantity fields are all set to 0.

(These bugs may be related, as when opening the new deck, one system is reporting the correct number, while a different db is reporting "0" and when the new deck is created a refresh resets the values to the db that is reporting 0.)

No error reports are generated.
This issue is consistent.

Greetings...

I can reproduce this issue in Beta 8 as well.
Here is the (easiest) path to recreating the issue:

1. Create and save a deck.
2. Close mtgstudio.
3. Open mtgstudio.

The deck will appear as it was saved on the screen, but the reports (analyzer, manalyzer) all report an empty deck.

Also...
4. After 1-3, open any other deck (or create a new deck) while the first deck is open - all quantities in the first deck revert to 0.

How else may I help you find this?

Thanks. I managed to reproduce it. Working on the fix right now.

Greetings...

Thanks, Gad. I (we) really do appreciate your hard work on this program. People keep trying to get me to convert to Magic Workstation (for the deck testing), but I refuse to budge. :)

Looking forward to the next update, and will be mighty happy when some of the features in the wing get added.

I may have to purchase another copy just to help with support. :)

Stay well.

And you can always import/export your MTG Studio deck in Workstation format. Something which MWS will not allow you to.
You can also import a MWS collection. Export your collection to MWS was never requested so far I believe (which is a postive indicator).

It is compiled and ready for upload. I was just double checking there are no big issues reported on email the last minute. Stay tuned.

Thank you. It is even better to evangelize MTG Studio instead. Spread the word around and it will bring much more ravenue. I recall one guy purchased MTG Studio to roll out a Magic Cards store using MTG Studio as a warehouse software and brought me back +15 registered users by simply saying "Btw, check out mtgstudio.com" while giving back the change in his store.
