Duels of the Planeswalkers sets missing

Postby Percivul » Mon Feb 28, 2011 5:55 am

I went through the forum looking for info on this and it seems to be vague as to where these sets are. I'm kinda back in the original boat I was in when I couldn't find Myr Galvanizers in the new Beta, but the old version had them. Well, even the old version doesn't have the Planeswalker decks. I would like to know when these decks are going to be added and please don't default to "we're working on it" as I see from other posts that it's been "worked on" for awhile now. I don't mind supporting the program (already have when I paid for it) but I have to say that it's becoming even more cumbersome to get my collection added when they're not even available in the database. This leads me to wonder if this purchase was really a good idea on my part. I'm sorry to come off as snooty, but come on. Really? A card management program that doesn't have cards in it????

Right. Can you lead me to a place where a full spoiler of those cards is available. As far as I am aware those come out of a PS3 game (http://www.wizards.com/magic/digital/du ... lkers.aspx), right?

MTG Studio never had a big focus on digital cards since time passes by and all Wizards digital cards become useless after their software is deprecated:
- like Shandalar
- MTG Interactive Encyclopedia.

I am not saying I will not add it if I spot a good spoiler but honestly it is not my top priority. You can use the Feedback button on the right of this web site to vote for this feature.

I don't think they make a ton of sales, but you can pick these Duels decks up as a real, physical product now.

Any chance for a spoiler for those? I really cannot afford buying them for the sake of having them.

Ok, now I understand why they're not in the system. Yes, as Azul pointed out, they are in print as their own set. The symbol for the cards is an 'M' inside a circle. I know if you go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ma ... ering_sets
, it will show you the duels decks that are available. I think the reason they aren't advertising it much is simply because they have very few unique cards in the duels set.

I will try and track down the complete listing and send you a link. Again, I am sorry if I came off as brutish or ungreatful and I do thank you for replying. If I can help to make this program even more complete, I am more than willing to find a way to help.

Oh wow. Massive brain fart. Now I get it lol.

I saw the M circle on the cards I play with my parents and the ones that I play with my wife on mtgo and I thought. They are the same arent they? But I couldnt find all the cards.

I get it now. They only released certain decks into the physical.

I created what we call our 'irritating' deck in mtgo with my wife where all the cards irritate us if the other person gets it but we love it if we get it so we go back and forth on each other and make fun of each other on them.

Like having the combo:

Draw a card loose a point.
Discard a card loose two points.
Have less then three cards loose a point per card less then three.
Then cast ravenous rats and mind rots and have the person die by drawing a card lol.

Lots of fun but half the cards I couldnt find on the internet but knew I had half of them in my decks with my parents so now I understand why :P.

I really wanted to build a physical deck to send to my wife as kind of a joke, was bummed half the cards didnt exist, some didnt exist in ANY edition and most of the ones that did would have made it cost over 50$s to build the deck lol.
Newest version of the software, beta or otherwise can be found here: http://www.mtgstudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=2

Excellent, mate. I will be happy to have this set as well supported in MTG Studio.

Is this list somehow close to what we need http://www.abugames.com/set178/Buy-Duel ... -Sale.html ?

Yes sir! That's them. When wizard released the set, they weren't very clear as to what differences there are between them and therefore, not everyone notices that these cards are actually their own sets. But I digress. Yes, their should be 7 decks (I believe) that have the same setup as those with a last set to be released in the near future. Essentially, they're decks that already have cards in circulation but they use that stylized "M" to signify that they are their own set.

Duel Decks: Elspeth vs. Tezzeret has a pair of broken trapezoids as their symbol. http://www.abugames.com/set205/Buy-Elsp ... -Sale.html

Duel Decks: Garruk vs. Liliana uses a lead inside of a semicircle. http://www.abugames.com/set164/Buy-Garr ... -Sale.html

I think these sets (Duels sets) are really the only thing missing for deck sets that I could find. Everything else seems to be there. If you could get those added, I think your card pool would be complete, and I would be happy to get you a few more customers. ;)

The duel decks aren't actually related to the Duels of the Planeswalker decks. Wizards have been releasing these sorts of decks for awhile.

You'll find Garruk vs Liliana under the set GvL. There are some other ones there such as JvC (Jace vs Chandra) and EvG (Elves vs Goblins)

I already posted the set list in my earlier post. I'm not sure if there are more but there are at least 5 there.

If you head to somewhere like http://store.tcgplayer.com/ you might be able to find the cards you are looking for.

Underworld Dreams, Megrim, and The Rack aren't too expensive these days.
You might be able to look around for other cheaper alternatives. Liliana's Caress makes a good replacement for Megrim... or you can just have both in the deck :)

Thank you. There should be 8 of them.
This does not really look like a spoiler to me.

What I need is the CollectorNo, Artists names, actual Rules and Flavor on the card, actual card types, etc. I am only entering cards in MTG Studio in case I have all the card details exactly matching the printed/digital versions. The only exclusion to this rule are the promo cards for which I miss the Release dateof some.

I believe that the spoiler on magiccards.info has the information you need. http://www.magiccards.info/dpa/en.html
