1.6.7 - 1.6.3 directory created

Postby Scytale » Wed May 13, 2009 4:21 am

The last few versions of the software seem to keep creating the following directory:

\My Documents\MTG Studio 1.6.3\Logs

This is also true of 1.6.7.

(PS Please let us set this My Documents directory!)
MTG studio version: 1.6.6.2461 + updated hfw
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3

This is a bug. It shall be fixed in 1.6.8. Thanks for reporting this.

Right! The primary focus of the forthcoming 1.6.8 version will be the ability to create decks from your collection. This is currently the most "hot" feature requested.

It may be that 1.6.9 or 1.7 major feature will be a major change in the way installations are done. I really like the Firefox way of doing things
1. Install one version
2. Whenever there is an update you get notified that there is a new version and what are the changes in it.
3. If you click "Update" the new version is being downloaded and installed.
4. Than MTG Studio restarts in the new version.

It is supposed that that the user will have only one folder in Program Files called "MTG Studio" and one folder called "MTG Studio" in My Documents.
The decks (the ones that MTG Studio installs) will be saved in a common place, the Card Art folder will be common one.
The user will have only one set of settings which are automatically updated.

You can use this thread to discuss. If you have any specific requirements, please share.

Make sure to keep the option open: the user might not want to update to the new version (if bugs are reported or if in the middle of entering his collection, etc.).
Firefox can afford to auto-update because it has been thoroughly tested beforehand on a wide range of systems.

If you want a sample Collection that also has Decks in it, let me know - mine is built that way and I can send you a copy.

Sorry, I got a bit confused. Why I would need your collection?
