Card Prices Not Updating

Postby vervalin » Sun Oct 14, 2012 5:07 pm

All,

I have done some searching on this topic but have not really gotten the answer so far (at least not one that works). If there is a solution to this, could someone please direct me to the topic or provide the solution. I am currently on 3.0 and a couple of releases back all of the card prices stopped displaying. I thought it would just get fixed when the update came but still nothing. So it looks like it goes out and updates but nothing is there.

Any sugestions?

Also, I should note that I followed this "http://mtgstudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=3938" topic and downloaded the beta mtgstudio.exe file and the new mtgstudio.hfw file but still no prices.

Thanks much

Make sure you're in Collection from Pool (not sure if necessary, just do it)
Go to File->Import->Import Prices
Go to File->Update Prices

Actually this shouldn't be that hard. I made MTG Studio a bit more clever and warn you if you don't have price lists already imported.

OK, I have a clarification on pricing.

First of all a search on prices or importing prices refuses to run as it returns too many posts from the forum.

the FAQ mentions bulk lists from 2 suppliers?

Must we download these ourselves? (if so where?)
If we do, can we manually add/change prices? (IE is this in a format easy to manipulate?)

If we are "manually" updating, then we can only populate the buy at and sell at columns?
Can we bulk change these buy at /sell at prices from the bulk list above?

Currently I have an issue in my software (3.1.0) that the prices for a card display in the price tab but not in the dialogue window under buy at/sell at?

In the case that we manually change a price (within the program, not in a "bulk list") will this be overridden next time we "update prices"?

I'm interested as I have over 11k cards(variants) and a LOT of them don't have prices (even old school sets like FE and R?) and I REALLY need the most efficient means of accomplishing this.

ALSO

I notice a discussion about accessing the mtgprice.com API... I strongly encourage this as their combining of prices from various vendors is exceptional

I tried to import prices right now and it's not working.

Exits with no price imported. Anyone else with same problem?

I also noticed that double faced cards doesn't update prices.

I guess it's because the name differs from MTG Studio database and the price database.

Is there something to solve this in the near future?

have upgraded to Windows 8 and downloaded 3.3. When I trying to add my registration key to the application, it takes the key and shutdown the app, but fails to accept the key.

Please post such requests in a separate or more relevant thread.
On your question - I suggest you install the latest 3.5 version.

This is a bug that has been reported before (I know because I reported it). There may be an enhancement request opened for it but I can't recall.
