Manalink 3.0 decks

Postby BlueTemplar » Mon Feb 06, 2012 2:46 pm

I tried to import Manalink decks (actually even Manalink 2.0 decks, not 3.0), but MTG Studio says that some cards are invalid and removes them. Same thing when I try to save a deck with non-"Shandalar" cards (but which are present in Manalink 2.0).

So I suppose that the database is incomplete - how can I import the Manalink 3.0 card database into MTG Studio?

Where do you get Mana Link 3.0 from, pls?

Is it http://www.slightlymagic.net/wiki/Installation?

I added the recent 968 missing cards from Mana Link 3.0.

Can you send over as many sample decks as you have to gaddlord@mtgstudio.com to test with, pls.

Seems like the original DCK file format was not preserved and nowadays they have a less strict file format.

I added support for decks in the form of:

Code: Select all
Lord of Fate (Bl/Wh, Type 1)

.188   10   Plains
.239   10   Swamp
.216   4   Scrubland
.55   2   Dark Ritual

as well. This will be available with the next 2.7 release.

If you are willing to beta test it

The decks I have are either basic Manalink 2.0 (before the patches) or Shandalar ones, except the _Counters of Two_ decks I just made with Manalink 3.0. Here's my deck folder:
playdeck.zip
(109.01 KiB) Downloaded 339 times

You can probably find other decks here : http://www.slightlymagic.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=57

I don't think, the .dck format was changed, all decks I have have the original format, and I can't open the deck you're listing neither with the deck editor or to start a game with it.

Yes, I'd like to beta test the new additions to the Manalink list in MTG Studio.

Also, since the list of cards in Manalink seems to be rapidly evolving (and probably will evolve even faster now that the 2000 card limit is solved), don't you think the best option would be for you to add a way to import the Manalink card database into MTG Studio?
I think there's a description of the database here : http://www.slightlymagic.net/forum/view ... =85&t=6031 , though you'd be probably better off directly contacting Gargaroz (who created that thread).

Also, are you sure there's only 968 extra cards? This post says there are around 4500 cards total in Manalink 3.0 :

Also that would be better because of all the different versions of Manalink/Shandalar out there... for instance the most common version of Manalink 2.0 doesn't seem to work in Vista...

By saying the deck format has changed I mean it had originally a deck header like this:

Code: Select all
    ;Arch Angel                           Name
    ;White                                Description
    ;Coyote Tex                           Author
    ;Coyote Tex@AOL.Com                   Email
    ;September 19, 1996                   Created
    ;12                                   Face
    ;4th Edition                          Version (read-only)
    ;comments                             Comments

    .188   22   Plains
    .157   2   Mana Vault
...

where nowaday decks do not strictly have Name, Color, Author, Email, Face, etc.

Can you point me to a link to the 6000+ cards download. I may be able to import those as well.

Glad that the 2000 limit has finally been solved. Kudos to all Turbo Assembler and C crackers.

Finally, I will consider making an Import Mana Link cards procedure but I am not sure it should be made public. Vote for this feature at http://mtgstudio.uservoice.com/forums/16948-mtg-studio-suggestions/suggestions/2584185-add-import-mana-link-cards-procedure

The url is missing.

I still see the 8 ;-prefaced lines at the start of each of my decks...

If I got it correctly, the ~4500 cards download is the Manalink 3.0 - at the first post of the thread:

URL added to vote for it. Be warned that adding Update Mana Link cards feature is highly unlikely since Mana Link is quick sands of efforts from crackers and not really something "standard".

But I will continue to update the card lists upon user requests. Seems like Mana Link is again alive and kicking.

I will work on adding the rest of the cards and post a beta soon. Keep checking (or subscribe as Atom feed from http://www.mtgstudio.com/forum/feed.php) the thread.
