I wouldnt call 20$US for a lifetime subscription an investment. I would call it a tip of the hat to a really good piece of buy it once software with the bonus of free updates. <...... from Schanke..I think

I think it's not so much about the money, Schwanke.. it's about the hundred of hours invested in incorperating a large collection into Studio that produces a knee-jerk reaction when the possibility arises that Studio might not continue? (However erroneous that possibility is.)

I for one would not contemplate putting my collection into anything else that arose from the ashes!

Also....Gad made a comment about WotC not buying Studio. I wonder why they would not? It would surely be just another marketing tool to encourage collecters, like myself, to ever enlarge our hobby?

Best wishes to all, especially Gad..... I much appreciate what you do!

Wizards Resources

I thing WotC not picking up the program had to do with their recent decisions to allow the licensing on StarWars Miniatures and HeroScape to lapse in order to funnel more financial resources to Magic:The Gathering and DandD.
If there's anything I can do to help, it's time to panic.

Sorry for the delay (again) guys. Lots of issues required further debugging and code coverage was not great.

I use a tool which provides detailed information which portions of the code are tested while I manually do my tests in the interface. Currently I reached 65% and decided to shoot a Beta 3 and then continue testing and fixing.

This beta has the new internal database structure completely changed. The way your mtgstudio.collection file is organized is also changed.

Now it should be tens of times smaller and faster. The startup speed is also optimized. The memory footprint should be around 80 MB on a first start without a collection initialized (previously it was 250MB+).

The Beta 3 comes only as installable version. No portable equivalent. If you wish to use it as portable simply rename mtgstudio.exe to mtgstudio_portable.exe.

Since the collection file structure has changed you CAN NOT copy/paste your old 1.8.2 collection file. Use FILE|IMPORT menu instead.

The link to the beta is http://www.mtgstudio.com/download/beta/ ... _Beta3.zip

Only MBS is available as a new set. The DDF, PD2, ME4 and some other new sets will be available in the final release.

Be sure also to check www.mtgstudio.com/wiki which I started recently and becomes more and more fun for me to fill in.

Greetings...

Be sure also to check www.mtgstudio.com/wiki which I started recently and becomes more and more fun for me to fill in.

I understand MBS being available as a new set (MBS = Mirrodin Beseiged).
What happened to Scars of Mirrodin, though? I'm not seeing it in the filter list nor are the cards showing up.

Did the new set go in, but the old set get kicked?
This will get fixed at the next Beta update (or final release) right?

Until that time...

Do you see this immediately after starting or you click somewhere on the grids? You can send over your collection file gaddlord@mtgstudio.com for further investigation.
