Thank you for reporting this. The future of makedeck.com is still uncertain. I really don't see much interested in it (compared to the huge feedback on MTG Studio). It is likely I freeze this project for a while until the market is ready for Software as a Service thing.

Yeah I totally understand. Its a totally awesome idea but a lot of work to get it up to the same speed as the executable version and all the time could be spent on improving the original and people dont tend to invest into the early versions of something if a much better version already exists.

I believe simply the market is not ready for this. If I charge $5 for a monthly subscription I doubt I will have many clients.
The technical approached provd that it can be really fast enough and there is potential but the level of end-user support is close to 0.

I believe in 3 years things will be much different. Lots of cloud, SaaS, virtualized stuff is cooking but there is still not enough end-user critical mass.

Well its like I had the conversation on my mmo wurm technology is moving so fast. I remember when all we had in smilies was :) :( :| :P :D and maybe :/ now its like we have those 'emoticons' to the left on this forum and some sites have hundreds.

I remember the movie virtuosity from years ago had a scene where will smith had to find this virtual bad guy and he was hiding in a japenese restuarnt and he knew which one it was because it had :) as the name and they used that because 80% of the movie goers only barely knew what it was.

Now we have a movie out called 'source code'. When programming jargon makes movie titles you know technology is getting pop culture lol.

Makes me wonder what kind of internet tech we would have in 3 years. Think of the net tech cell phones would have when you can do decent java on cell phones right now. Probably have some kind of 'net-c' or something where you can code in cross platform telecommunication based c/c++ or something with virtual databases and peer to peer telecommunication connections etc etc. As it is right now with a winamp program on my desktop and an app on my droid when my cell phone is on my house wifi my desktop automatically detects it and allows me to manage my winamp audio and video files on it without even touching the phone. I even saw an ftp SERVER app for my android. Now you can run an anonymous ftp server with a 32gig harddrive and 10mb download 2mb upload just by taking your cellphone to a public wifi spot and eating lunch. :P

I remember in college the 'high tech geek thing' to do was to run a distributed system pgp cracking program that was using distributed technology to test crack government encryption keys as part of encryption research. Now they have an app for that on my android lol. "Doing something productive with your space cellphone processor cycles" lol.

I know back in college they were experimenting with screen less visual displays. There was a tech out on the market that I havnt heard of since where you wore a pair of specialized sun glasses that actually worked as sun glasses but you could flip a switch and it projected on the sun glasses a simulation of a computer screen that made it look like the screen was 10 feet in front of you. You then used virtual gloves to simulate typing and you had a 'virtual machine' you could take anywhere and use while jogging or going shopping or whatever.

Think it was just prototype back then but I wouldnt put it past em to have something like that in 3 years. We already have quazi-real 3D movie tech in our living rooms. :P

Ive already decided I feel old by the fact that I am 'suprised' at how fast technology is moving when I play computer games on the internet with kids that dont even know half the technology that was hot just 10 years ago.
