A coupla quick suggestions :)

Postby jAsOnX73 » Thu Dec 29, 2005 3:54 am

hi there,
I'm sorry I've been missing in action for so long, but work is killing me :)
Not that I have more time now, but I thought I could toss a couple of suggestions in.

I want to talk about the card image window on the topleft.

First of all if I resize it MTG Studio doesn't remember it. So whenever I open the program I have to do it manually every time.

It could be also very cool to have the picture scale when I resize it. The problem is with the new High Quality Pictures from the MWSData forums. Since they are bigger, when automatically stretched by MTG studio they look very bad compared to the smaller one we had before. I just wanted to have a chance to stretch up - with a fixed ratio - the picture to have it look better.

Thanks and keep up the great work :)

Automatic resize is not so cool IMHO, because it wil cause the program to flicker.

Version 1.0 will support two modes of preview for the card images

312x445
and
200x285

which are I believe the most common formats of the image scans.

Here is a screenshot of the fortcoming feature.

this should do. hopefully 312x445 won't make the new high quality scans to look bad. The size of these new scans is 480x680, by the way.
thanks for your quick answer and keep up the good work, as usual.

Also it would be great to include a 'display' feature to narrow down the card list (if it's not there already). I mean dividing the sets into 'official', 'token', 'unofficial' and 'preview/various'. Chosing 'official' the list will only have main editions and official expansions (I would not include special sets like Beatdown and such in the 'official' list, but that's just me) and so on.

You can achieve this from Filter dialog by choosing the approptiate format. It is not quite the same as what you expect but perhaps in the future I can add
"All Official", "Un-formats", "Tokens" and "Promotional" to the list of possible formats.

Heve e look at:

that's great. Any chance to save filters and use a shortcut or a 'bookmark' bar to quickly switch through them? :)

The 480x680 images are seen correct and IMHO are good down-scaled to 312x445:

The images are taken from here.

Now 3 modes are supported including Autosize:

You are the best. :)
I didn't have the heart to tell you I didn't like the look of the high quality cards at lower resolution. :)

Now it should be perfect. Great job. :)
